Walk for Women's Cancer 2010

Welcome to NAAMA's Walk for Women's Cancer

Welcome to NAAMA's Walk for Women's Cancer The 6th Annual NAAMA's Walk for Women's Cancer takes place Sunday, October 3, 2010.  Gates open at 8:00 a.m. Walk begins at 9:00 a.m.  In collaboration with the American Cancer Society, the goal is to increase awareness of the many types of cancers that affect women, how to minimize cancer risk and increase screening.

This one mile non-competitive walk at the Detroit Zoo in Royal Oak, Michigan, was established in 2004 by the Michigan Chapter of the National Arab American Medical Association (NAAMA).  NAAMA's Walk for Women's Cancer is the first of its kind to target all women's cancer, and one of the few to focus on ovarian and gynecological malignancies.

Its mission is also to support surviving patients, honor memories of those lost and to create a community of individuals and businesses dedicated to eradicating the concerns of future generations.
